Spend Less Time Posting On Social Media By Scheduling Content

How is your business handling the task of managing your social media presence? Efficiently allocating your time is an important element when it comes to social media management. Too many businesses today spend the majority of their day creating and posting content to their social media accounts. In the scramble to constantly create and post content, these businesses rarely get the chance to actually interact with their customers. Fortunately, there are tools that can help you schedule posts ahead of time so you can start building relationships with your followers.
Schedule Posts Ahead of Time with Facebook and Twitter

Facebook –
You can now easily schedule posts to appear in the future (or the past) using Facebook sharing tools. When you create a post, simply add the date and time you wish the post to appear. Facebook allows you to schedule posts up to six months in advance. From your page’s sharing tool follow these steps:

  • Select the type of post you would like
  • Click on the clock symbol
  • Select the date and time when you would like your post to appear
  • Click the Schedule button

Twitter – Twitter also now allows users to schedule tweets for specific times and dates. You can schedule tweets up to a year in advance. In order to create scheduled tweets, you will need to utilize the site. From the URL, go to the “Scheduling” tab. Select “Custom” and then choose the date and time you would like your tweet to appear. You can also schedule image posts from this interface.

Schedule Posts Ahead of Time with Third Party Services
If you are managing two or more social media accounts, then you may want to use third party services to make your life a little easier. Third party social media management services allow businesses to handle multiple social media accounts, improve productivity, and save time. Here are three valuable third party services your business may want to consider for better social media management:

HootSuiteHootSuite is a popular tool used by many social media professionals as well as small businesses. Through HootSuite’s main dashboard you can manage your social media accounts on Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, and more. Smaller businesses may want to start with the free version which supports one user and up to five social profiles before moving on the one of the paid versions.

SendibleSendible is similar to HootSuite in that it can help businesses manage multiple social media accounts from a single platform. Sendible offers the advantage of supporting sites such as Delicious and Bebo in addition to the more mainstream social media sites. This service also includes analytics and a report builder in addition to the automation features. They do not offer a free model, but paid plans start at $39.99 per month.

Sprout SocialSprout Social offers similar tools to those provided by both Sendible and HootSuite. The main benefit of Sprout Social is the “smart inbox” which organizes all your social media messages into one inbox. The detailed reporting tools are also very helpful. The standard plan includes the smart inbox, reporting, publishing features, and up to 10 profiles.

In business time is money, so why waste your time with social media management when you can easily automate the process? Once you free yourself from having to constantly babysit your social media accounts, your business can start interacting with followers in a more meaningful (and effective) way.
